Plein air painter, Eric Aho has quickly become one of the nation's top landscape artists working today. Always fresh and vibrant, their atmosphere evokes familiarity and each brushstroke reveals a keen understanding of sophistication through austerity. The artist resides in New England, but a Fulbright Scholarship took him to his ancestral land of Finland where he continues to visit yearly. The Tory Folliard Gallery has been proud to represent the artist since 2001.
Aho’s recent museum exhibitions include the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art in Connecticut, the National Academy Museum in New York City, the Fitchburg Art Museum in Massachusetts, the Fleming Museum at the University of Vermont and the Hood Museum at Dartmouth College. His work is represented in collections throughout the country including the Fleming Museum; the Oulu City Art Museum in Finland; the Ballinglen Arts Foundation; Fidelity Investment Corporation; the Union Bank of Scandinavia; Pfizer Inc.; the U.S. Embassy in Helsinki; the North American Institute in Santa Fe, NM and the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco.
