Tension dominates these romantic landscapes. At once solid and weighted, these paintings continue to maintain the presence of grace and beauty. With close attention to the subtle, changeable effects of light, Aeling gives mass to his objects of nature while preserving their mystery. The artist makes his home in St. Louis, Missouri but travels extensively throughout the US, including annual voyages to Hawaii.
