Jennifer Price paints loose and colorful abstractions as reinventions of what she imagines distant memories to look like. An accumulation of carefully chosen colors and shapes relate to one another as in a dance. Price’s large-scale canvases reveal memories in a multitude of relationships and conversations filling the picture plane, while her intimate works on panel communicate more concise and vivid memories. As a senior painting major at Milwaukee's Institute of Art and Design, the artist was awarded the opportunity to exhibit and sell her works in the Gallery as winner of the 5th Gallery Project in April, 2010.
