Mark Forth’s paintings involve statuesque figures in dreamlike surroundings with soft lights reminiscent of the Dutch Masters. A modern sense of storytelling makes these works a pleasure to study as figures engage in private moments. Simplistic in form and ambiguous in content, Forth’s paintings reveal a private moment about to unfold. A great stillness pervades in his work.
