Mary Alice Wimmer's large-scale, photorealistic watercolor still-lifes are about surface and reflection. Like an Italian renaissance master, the artist paints the sensuality of food and the poetry of an open window through a balance of comfort and tension. A recipient of numerous painting and teaching awards, the artist's works can be found in the collections of the Milwaukee Art Museum and the Madison Art Center.
