After receiving her BFA from California State University, Paula Swaydan Grebel found the rural hills of southeastern Wisconsin to be the perfect setting for her practice of plein air painting. The artist fashions lively little landscapes on site, flushed with color and finished with discernible brushwork and paint applications. The artist’s intimate still-life portraits capture an ideal of beauty and an honest sincerity.
