Artist's Statement
"I am interested in painting objects that originate in the inanimate world but reference the world of living beings and creatures. Animals are often anthropomorphized allowing for exaggerated emotions and characterizations. These figurines and toys hover between two realms, sitting comfortably in neither. Ideally, the aesthetic decisions as well as the authenticity of the subjects combine to create haunting and disquieting images."
