From whopping fish sculptures, striped or spotted, to petite songbirds carved from wood, folk artist Edward Larson has not forgotten the appeal of the simply stated. His works of art are characterized by bright, primary colors that tap into our child-like sensibility. A resourceful recycling of materials like wooden fruit crates, scrap metals and marbles add charm to his unique creatures.
Larson is a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship artist. He has been featured in many group shows at such venues as the Museum of American Folk Art, New York, NY; the Renwick Gallery, Smithsonian Institute, Washington, DC; and the NEA Museum School of Art, Greenville, NC. The artist makes his home in New Mexico.
